THE SOFTWARE HORROR PICTURE SHOW

Denver Airport Baggage Handling Failure, 1995

The Integrated Automated Baggage Handling System of the New Denver Airport was originally designed to distribute all baggage automatically between check-in, the aircraft and pick-up on arrival. Errors in the software that controls the automated baggage system caused a delay in the opening of the new airport, which led to a big financial loss.
